2026 Victorian Aboriginal Remembrance Service

This annual service honours the significant contribution that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander service people have made, and continue to make, in the Australian Defence Force.

Your attendance at the service is greatly appreciated by the Victorian Aboriginal Remembrance Service Committee.

Getting to the event:

The event will take place on Bunurong Land, at the Shrine of Remembrance.

• We encourage the use of public transport to attend the Service.

• The Shrine is located on Birdwood Avenue and St Kilda Road, a short walk from Anzac Station.

• If you are taking the train to Anzac Station, exit the station via Domain Road (exit 4) and follow the path for a short walk through the Shrine reserve to the memorial.

• You can also walk or catch a tram from Flinders Street Station.

• Take any southbound tram from Federation Square (except route number 1) to stop 19 Shrine of Remembrance.

Parking:

• Nearest car parking is on Birdwood Avenue and St Kilda Road (ticketing required).

• Designated coach parking bays are located on the Shrine side of Birdwood Avenue.

• Disabled Access bays are opposite the Shrine on both sides of Birdwood Avenue.

Accessibility assistance:
Supported by the Nigel and Patricia Peck Foundation, Travellers Aid will assist veterans and their families from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm (an hour before and one and a half hours after the service).

Travellers Aid can support people with mobility requirements by power assisted wheelchair from the car park at the Shrine, Birdwood Avenue and tram stop #20 on St Kilda Rd to the service at the Shrine (WWII Forecourt), and after the service back or to the Education Centre for refreshments.
