The Western NSW Health Research Network is proud to announce the WHRN 2026 Research Symposium theme, “Innovating for Health Equity: Bridging Gaps in Rural Healthcare” This event is being held on Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 of October in Orange, NSW.
The annual Symposium offers outstanding networking opportunities as it brings together academics, researchers, policymakers, and rural healthcare professionals to collaborate and exchange knowledge on the challenges and solutions pertaining to rural health research.
The theme for the 2026 Symposium shines a light on the need for networking and interdisciplinary collaboration to address the unique health disparities faced by rural communities. These disparities stem from geographic, socioeconomic, and cultural factors, and necessitate innovative research strategies.
The workshops on Day 1 include opportunities to engage with researchers and networks and build on your research skills.
The Western NSW Health Researcher of the Year winners will be presented at the awards event after the workshops on Day 1.
The Day 2 programme will include a mix of general, emerging, student and open research presentations. This event should not be missed by anyone keen to exchange ideas and collaborate with the diverse stakeholders interested in improving research and health outcomes in Western and Far Western NSW.
Registration inclusions
Full registration includes both Day 1 and 2 and the Awards Dinner at the conclusion of Day 1.

Your registration will only be confirmed on full payment of fees due and all fees must be paid prior to the event to ensure access to the event on the day.
Group Booking

Cancellations and timelines
Cancellations must be notified in writing to admin@whrn.org.au. Refunds will be processed until the 28th of September. Cancellations between the 29th September - 5th of October will attract a 50% admin fee of the purchased ticket price.
Substitutions
A substitute delegate for a current registration can be advised at any time at no charge.
Recordings / Copyright
WHRN reserves the right to use any recordings whether audio or video and/or any photographs taken at any stage during the Conference for promotional, advertising or reporting of the Conference and/or its content at their sole discretion.
