Team Volunteering at FareShare – Make Meals, Make a Difference
Looking for a meaningful, energising way to bring your team together? Join us in our FareShare kitchens for a hands-on volunteering experience that’s all about teamwork, impact, and good vibes.
What You'll Be Doing
Get ready to roll up your sleeves and:
Chop, prep, and pack nutritious meals for people doing it tough across Australia.
Work side-by-side with your team in a commercial kitchen guided by our experienced chefs.
Know that every meal you make is going straight to someone who needs it.
Capture the Moment & See Your Impact
During your session, we’ll capture photos of the experience and send your team a post-event summary that includes:
A snapshot of your team’s contribution (number of meals prepared).
A short recap of the day’s highlights. It’s a great way to reflect, celebrate, and share the impact you made together.
Shift Options
Location; 1-7 South Audley St, Abbotsford
Monday to Friday
Morning: 9:00am – 12:30pm
Afternoon: 1:15pm – 5:00pm
NOTE: Sessions Include a catered tea break to recharge and connect.
Group Size
Perfect for teams of 8–20 people (18yr+). Smaller or larger groups? No worries—just reach out and we’ll make it work - corporatevolunteering@secondbite.org
Financial Contribution
To help cover costs and keep the kitchen running:
Groups of 8–10: $1,650 + GST & Humanitix booking fee
Groups of 11–20: $3,300 + GST & Humanitix booking fee
Invoices are issued upon booking; payment is needed to confirm the session.
Flexibility
Plans change—we get it:
30+ days' notice: Full refund
14–30 days: 50% refund
Less than 14 days: No refund (we’ve already started prepping)

FAQs
- I am vegan/vegetarian, do I have to touch meat?
We completely understand that not everyone is comfortable handling animal products, if that's you - no worries! Just let your facilitator or chef know at the start of the session and we will find a task you are comfortable with.
- Can I leave early?
We ask that all volunteers stay for the whole sessions, as our kitchen production is relying on your help. We do understand that sometimes things can be out of your control, if one or two people need to leave the session early, that is ok. Please just let us know as soon as you can.
- Can I bring my child?
It's so lovely that people want to share this experience of doing meaningful work with their children, unfortunately, we are only able to accommodate volunteers over the age of 18 in these sessions.
We do have a wonderful schools program though which run in the mornings during term time. If your child's school isn't already involved, we'd love for you to let them know we are ready to welcome them into the kitchen. They can email schools@fareshare.net.au - Is the space accessible?
We require volunteers to be able to stand for the duration of the session. If you have someone in the team that needs to be able to sit down for some of the session reach out to the team and we can see what we can do.
- Who is Secondbite?
SecondBite is a charity that merged in 2024 with FareShare so we are now one organisation. We distribute products from our Secondbbite warehouses as well as meals from our FareShare kitchens to those doing it tough.
