2027 Prep - Year 6 New Student Information and Orientation Morning

All new and existing ELC parents and carers are invited to join us for the 2027 Information and Orientation Morning, being held on Tuesday 1 December at 8:45am. This morning will be an excellent opportunity for our new families to be welcomed into the Canterbury College Junior School community. This will be an important opportunity for your child to meet their 2027 teacher and fellow classmates. The parent session will provide you with vital information about how to support your child as they transition to our school. As such, we strongly encourage you both to attend. New students will be met outside the Junior School Administration and escorted by Canterbury staff to their classroom for the morning. Parents will then move to the Canterbury Events Centre (CEC) for an information session.

New to Canterbury students entering Prep and Year 1 in 2027:

Please send your child in smart casual clothes or their current school uniform, along with enclosed shoes, a named hat, and a named drink bottle. 

Please arrive at the Welcome Tent outside the Junior School Administration by 8:45am. Students will then be escorted to their classroom and participate in orientation activities. New Prep and Year 1 2026 students will conclude their orientation activities at 10.30am. 

Parents are to attend the parent information session from 8:45am to 10:30am in the CEC. 

New to Canterbury students entering Years 2-6 in 2027:

Please send your child in smart casual clothes or their current school uniform, along with enclosed shoes and a small named backpack containing: a named hat, a named drink bottle, a lunchbox with enough food for the day and a pencil case with supplies including a lead pencil, eraser and coloured pencils.

Please arrive at the Welcome Tent by 8:45am. Students will then be escorted to their 2027 classroom, participate in transition activities and baseline testing throughout the day. New to Canterbury students entering Yrs 2-6 in 2027 will conclude their Orientation activities at 3pm and can be collected from Junior School Administration.

Parents are to attend the parent information session from 8:45am to 10:30am in the CEC.

Existing Canterbury ELC Students: 

Existing ELC students will be required to come to the Junior School Administration no later than 8:45am wearing their ELC uniform, hat and with a named drink bottle. They will be escorted to their 2027 classroom by Junior School staff.  

Parents will then move to the Canterbury Events Centre (CEC) for an information session from 8:45am - 10:30am.  

If your child usually attends the ELC on a Tuesday, parents may sign their child into the ELC from 10:30am once the parent information session has concluded.
