2027 Volunteering Chair

This is an opportunity for an ambitious and passionate student to have a positive impact at UWA and champion a culture of volunteering and social impact on and off campus. As the Chair of the Volunteering Committee, you have the task of setting the strategic direction of volunteering and community engagement activities within the Guild and wider UWA.

• Get industry experience in the not-for-profit sector, working directly with Guild Volunteering, UWA Student Guild, Volunteering WA, UWA, and not-for-profit organisations

• Develop a variety of your skills and enhance your employability through hands-on leadership experiences, professional development workshops, and public speaking opportunities

• Develop and support initiatives to promote volunteering on campus (i.e. stalls, events, excursions etc.)

• Develop and support Guild Volunteering Programs

About Guild Volunteering

Guild Volunteering connects UWA students to meaningful volunteering opportunities both on campus and in the wider community. GV partners with over 300 non-profit organisations who work in the fields of environmental sustainability, animal welfare, homelessness and housing, aged care, disabilities, refugee issues and more. It is a joint partnership of the UWA Student Guild, Volunteering WA, and The University of Western Australia. The joint venture is a recognition that volunteering is of benefit to the student campus experience and to the University's teaching and learning objectives.

Key Dates
• Applications close Monday, October 12th
• Role officially commences December 2026
