What if the Great Commission wasn’t another thing you had to get right—but an invitation to follow Jesus into the places He is already working?

He Called Me to Fish is a coastal weekend retreat for women who want to grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus and more confident in living out their faith in the everyday places God has planted them.

Together, we’ll explore what it means to follow Jesus, recognize where He is leading, share our stories, love people well, and courageously “cast our nets” while trusting Him with the results.

And because we believe some truths are best experienced rather than simply taught…we’re going fishing.

Throughout the weekend, Scripture, worship, teaching, experiential activities, time near the water, meaningful conversation, movement, rest, laughter, and an actual fishing experience will help bring Jesus’ invitation to life.

You don’t need to know how to fish.
You don’t need to be an expert at sharing your faith.
You don’t need to arrive with all the answers.

Just come willing to follow.

Before Jesus told His disciples what they would do, He invited them to be with Him.

We’ll begin there—learning to recognize His voice, remain close to Him, and allow our lives with Jesus to become the foundation for everything we carry into the world.

Cast Your Net.

Jesus calls ordinary people into extraordinary Kingdom work.

We’ll explore the Great Commission in a way that feels relational rather than performative—learning how our stories, gifts, relationships, workplaces, families, communities, and everyday lives can become places where we participate in what God is already doing.

Our job isn't to control the catch.

Our invitation is to faithfully cast the net.

Stay Salty.

Salt was never meant to stay in the shaker.

We'll talk about what it looks like to live differently—not loudly for the sake of being noticed, but faithfully enough that the way we love, serve, speak, and live points people toward Jesus.

And yes…expect a little fun with this one. We’re heading to the coast, after all.

Your Weekend Will Include

Your retreat experience will include comfortable accommodations, meals throughout the weekend, teaching and workshops, worship and prayer, Christ-centered movement, time for rest and reflection, coastal experiences, community with other women, and our signature fishing experience.

No fishing experience is necessary. We'll take care of the details so you can simply show up and enjoy the experience.

Meals + Dietary Needs

Meals are part of the retreat experience and will be enjoyed together.

Whenever possible, meals will be served “deconstructed” style, allowing guests to build their plates according to their preferences and dietary needs. This gives us greater flexibility to accommodate common dietary needs while still creating a shared, beautiful meal experience around the table.

We’ll ask about dietary needs during registration and will do our best to accommodate them. Because meals are prepared for the group, however, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment or accommodate every individual dietary restriction.

🌊 Our Coastal Home for the Weekend

Sandbridge Beach | Virginia Beach, Virginia

For this retreat, we're trading busy schedules for ocean air.

Our home for the weekend is a beautiful oceanfront house in Sandbridge Beach, a quieter coastal community located approximately 20 minutes from Virginia Beach.

With the Atlantic Ocean just outside our door, we'll have a beautiful setting for slowing down, connecting with God, building community, and bringing the He Called Me to Fish experience to life.

Our retreat home features:

• Beautiful spaces to gather as a group
• Room to slow down and enjoy one another
• Easy access to the beach
• Sunrise views over the Atlantic
• A peaceful setting away from the busier Virginia Beach oceanfront

There will be time built into the weekend simply to be here—whether that means walking the beach, sitting by the ocean with your Bible, enjoying the pool, drinking coffee with new friends, or finding a quiet place to listen to the waves.

And because we're staying together in one retreat home rather than individual hotel rooms, this weekend is intentionally designed to feel intimate and communal.
