    Event description

100 million tonnes of coal-ash are stored around Lake Macquarie - the sheer size of these so-called ash dams poses a serious environmental threat that is too big for any one industry player to solve on their own.

Come and explore with us what’s possible and how we can make it reality: we develop community visions in story boards for a video and in ceramics made of coal-ash mixed with clay!

This workshop is fun and free. We collaborate with a design research project that uses 3D printing as a means to stimulate creativity when addressing serious environmental problems as a community. We also use video as a medium to illustrate what communities can achieve when they put their minds, hearts and brains together.

We are able to provide lunch and a small token for your contribution in time, imagination and skills.

This project is supported by Lake Macquarie City Council through its Community Environment Grants Program.

Once the workshop is sold out, you can join the wait list and we'll contact you once we have identified date and place for the next workshop in 4-8 weeks.
