30th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

  • Drinks and nibbles of course (you can even Bring a Plate if you have a fave dish you would love to share)

It is an extraordinary fact that The Women's Library first opened for lending in 1994, in the former Alexandria Town Hall. This was under the auspices of the old South Sydney Council, who then offered the refurbished Brown Street premises (1997) where the Library is today, a provision continued by the City of Sydney after the council amalgamation of 2004.

Our thanks to all who got us here to 2024 - particularly the hundreds of volunteer workers who have staffed the place for 30 years - a remarkable achievement well worth celebrating.
And a particular thank you to the City of Sydney for continuing to provide our fabulous premises as part of their their ongoing support of women and community.
