3x3 CHAMPS: Australia's Elite National Team Selection Event

The 3x3 Champs is Basketball Australia's premier 3x3 high-performance tournament, serving as the official pathway for the nation's best U17 and U23 athletes to represent the Gangurrus on the world stage.

This is more than just a tournament—it's your chance to earn a spot in the national squad and on the global FIBA 3x3 rankings.

1. Key Event Details

Game Guarantee	Guaranteed 5 games minimum over two days.
Entry Price	$500 per team (= $125 per player)

2. The Pathway to International Glory

The results of this competition directly feed into the 2026 national team selection process:

Division	Player Eligibility	Pathway Objective
U17 Competition	Born 2010 or younger	Used by HP Talent ID to select the squad for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal.
U23 Competition	Born 2004 or younger	Used to select the national team for the 2026 FIBA U23 World Cup.
U23 Team Prize	Winning Team for Male and Female U23 competition	The winning team (Male & Female) will have their travel covered to qualify for a FIBA 3x3 Challenger event in 2026 or equivalent (TBC).

3. Mandatory Registration Process (2 Steps)

Team Registration is mandatory through this portal and is strictly subject to final approval by your State Organisation.

Step 1: FIBA 3x3 Event Portal Registration (Mandatory)

Register: All teams and players must register through this FIBA 3x3 Event Portal.
State ID: During registration, the team or player must clearly identify the State/Territory they represent. This is mandatory for State approval.
Roster: Add all players and the captain's full names as they appear on their FIBA 3x3 player profile.
Profile Check: All players must have a valid FIBA 3x3 Profile to be eligible.

Step 2: State Approval & Payment

State Approval: Following team registration, the registered team list will be made available to the respective State Organisation for approval (subject to the 2 teams per state limitation).
Payment: The team entry fee of $500 per team (= $125 per player) must be paid after registration and State Approval. A secure payment link will be sent to the team captain once approval is confirmed.
Final Confirmation: The team's entry is only finalised once the State Organisation has approved it and the registration fee has been paid.

4. Registration Quota & Deadlines

State Quota: Each State/Territory has a strict quota of 2 teams per division per gender for initial entry.
Deadline: The initial registration deadline for all teams is Monday 30th of November 2025.
Vacant Spots: Any unused spots will be filled based on highest team ranking points. If a team has no current ranking points, selection will be based on a first-arrive, first-serve basis from the waitlist immediately following the registration deadline.
