Abstract Botanical Painting and Drawing Workshop Series (Four Weeks)

Unleash your creativity, find your calm, and connect with nature in our 4-week Abstract Botanical Painting and Drawing Workshop hosted at The Locals WA in Scarborough. This immersive weekly evening series is designed by Artisea and professional artist Mellina Van der Valk, to help you quiet your inner critic and develop a unique visual style.

Perfect for both absolute beginners and practicing creatives, the sessions blend mindful, meditative drawing exercises with dynamic mark-making techniques to help you completely loosen up your artistic approach. Throughout October, you will learn to look at leaves, flowers, and stems through a contemporary lens—simplifying natural forms and experimenting with fluid paint layers and bold colour palettes. You will guide your new skills toward a final, polished masterpiece, leaving the final session with a completed canvas ready to frame and display proudly at home.

Workshop Details

• Dates: Wednesday evenings – 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th October

• Time: 6:15 PM – 8:15 PM

• Location: Building 2, Stirling Women's Shed, Scarborough Community Centre (173 Gildercliffe St, Scarborough WA 6019)

• Full Series Investment: $180 (Includes all 4 weeks and guaranteed canvas project completion)

• Casual Attendance: $50 per session (Limited tickets available for single-session flexibility)
