    Event description

You guessed it right? I’m turning 40!

For this special occasion, I’m reflecting on my life with music.

Music, which has accompanied me ever since I started learning the violin at age 3.

And the joyous world of chamber music, which has been my ever-present guide.

So of course for my birthday I’m excited to tick off one more in my ongoing Beethoven String Quartet Project, details of which are outlined below.

But I also want to celebrate how grateful I am for this life, for my parents who instilled this lifelong treasure, and for everything and everyone who has shaped who I am today.

As you know, Cygnus Arioso is my outlet for this gratitude, my creation to pass this all on to the next generation.

So by attending this concert, you’ll also be helping me fundraise for the Cygnus Arioso String Orchestra Summer Camp- it’s my No. 1 passion project and next year will be its fifth iteration.

As you can imagine, putting together a large ensemble is an expensive and time-consuming project, so your attendance at this milestone event for me will be a great support.

    Program:

Seraphita by Trey Spruance, a modern and atmospheric composition.

Mozart’s String Quartet No. 15, a sublime piece that balances beauty and complexity.

Beethoven’s String Quartet Op. 18, No. 5, a lively and elegant work from his early period.

A selection of traditional Danish folk songs, showcasing rich cultural melodies.

    Musicians:

    Akiko Miyazawa, Violin

    William Huxtable, Violin

    Aaron Dungey, Viola

    Isaac Davis, Cello
