Stage 4 Chemistry Experiments for the New 7-10 Syllabus (18/11)
Event description
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A NEW DATE FROM WHAT WAS ORIGINALLY ADVERTISED
ThisĀ NESA ACCREDITEDĀ workshop via ZoomĀ instructs teachers on the mandated, suggested and complimentary Chemistry experiments in Stage 4 of the new 7-10 Science syllabus. Through creative live Zoom instruction, teachers will:
- Learn how to conduct these experiments
- Learn the risk assessments associated with these experiments
- Learn where to program Chemistry experiments for the new 7-10 Science syllabus
- Seek opportunities to integrate Data Science in the Chemistry experiments of Stage 4 of the new 7-10 Science syllabus
This workshop isĀ perfect for Science teachers with Year 7&8 classes and will suit new, retraining and also seasoned teachers. We will be covering a wide range of chemistry experiments and practical assessment tasks in preparation for the new syllabus.
To achieve our aims via Zoom, participants will have a Tiny Science Lab Chemistry Set posted to them in advanceĀ to use throughout the day.Ā A return postage label will be provided so that you can post the set back a week later (this gives you time to show off to your colleagues some of the amazing things you learnt on the day).Ā The only extra thing you need to supply is a $5.45 300ml bottle of Samba Butane Gas from Bunnings.
Throughout the day, the Tiny Science Lab Chemistry Sets will be utilised. All the skills and experiences covered are directly transferable to regular sized Chemistry equipment as found in most school Science laboratories. One of the many features of Tiny Science Lab is that the experiments happen much faster and so we can get through many more activities in a given time.
