5Rhythms Dance
Description
Emerging Waves is a space held by Rebecca Byrne -
A 5Rhythms Teacher in Training mentored by Ajay Rajani
In this class you are invited to move through the 5Rhythms with simple guidance, exploring body parts and giving space for your personal expression. Music becomes the teacher supporting your movement practice through the Waves map of Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness.
Rooted in the teachings of Gabrielle Roth 5Rhythms is practiced by tens of thousands of people around the world. It is a movement meditation, a creative path, and a philosophy grounded in the belief that when we move, we heal. Movement becomes both medicine and metaphor-opening space for personal insight, and embodied presence.
This practice welcomes everybody, every culture, every age, and every level of experience. Wherever the 5Rhythms are danced, a community forms-one that moves together, sweats together, grows together and supports one another freedom and authenticity. Here we meet ourselves and each other with curiosity, kindness and the courage to be real.
Creativity. Connection. Community.
FAQs
- What is the 5Rhythms practice
5Rhythms® offers a simple, physical exploration of how the body moves and how movement can free expression:
Flowing — we arrive in our bodies, guided by the feet, learning to trust the ground beneath us.
Staccato — we give shape to our energy, finding clarity, direction, and the confidence to express ourselves physically.
Chaos — we let the body loosen and unwind, allowing movement to release tension and open space inside.
Lyrical — we lighten, lift, and rediscover the natural ease and creativity of the moving body.
Stillness — we soften into quiet motion, listening for what is present in breath, weight, and subtle shifts.
All bodies - All movement - All abilities are welcome.
