50 Years Of 1975 - The Album Show
Event description
The Album Show returns with a new series of ever evolving shows. The shows celebrate iconic anniversaries of significant years of music, therefore changing every year!
The next in this series is “50 Years of 1975”. This show focuses on the music released or recorded in 1975 from all around the world. Music from a key year of social evolution, and musical styles and popular culture growing, combining and breeding new sounds and styles… characteristics that resonate, now 50 years later.
1975 was a critical year in music history. The smooth sounds of West Coast country rock, the high point of 70’s pure pop, the dying echoes of glam, the growing wave of disco and even the stirrings of punk all were characteristics of this important year. With artists like Captain and Tenielle, Elton John, Bee Gees, Hot Chocolate, America, Fleetwood Mac, ABBA, Eagles, The Bay City Rollers and many many more, it proved to be a pivotal year in the crystallisation of pop music.
With a 5 piece band, striking visuals and a little bit of a history lesson, The Album Show will present a showcase of as many of these iconic tracks as possible in a 2 set, 2 hour plus show!
