Event description

Now is the time to broaden our understanding of financial resilience – to grow skills, embed practices and influence policies that move Australia towards positive economic wellbeing.

The 5th Financial Inclusion Conference – building financial resilience in a cost of living crisis brings together policy makers, community services and current research. With presentations from international and local experts, workshops, lively panel discussions and networking opportunities, the conference will explore new ideas, best practices and build practical skills in building financial resilience and well-being.

Building financial resilience in a cost of living crisis

This conference will explore aspects of financial well-being that have arisen as areas of concern, particularly during the current cost of living crisis:

  • Access for all to build a well-being economy.
  • Financial and economic abuse.
  • Engaging and supporting young people.
  • The role of place-based service delivery.
Conference outcomes

Over 2 days, the conference will draw on expertise within the sector to:

  • Expand conversation around financial resilience.
  • Showcase current research findings.
  • Celebrate innovative practice, projects and government initiatives.
  • Highlight real data and experiences facing our communities at this time.
  • Run skills development workshops for:
    • Financial counsellors (attracts CPD points).
    • Housing and homelessness workers, youth workers and other community sector workers.
Who should attend

The conference will convene a diverse audience of stakeholders concerned with financial inclusion, resilience and well-being. It will bring together experts from the community sector, finance, energy and targeted industries, including academics, researchers, funders, policy makers, regulators, advocates, executives, managers, front-line staff, students and volunteers. This is a great opportunity to connect with a community of practice invested in a positive financial future for all Australians.
