    This twilight workshop has been designed by Paul Looyen (Physics High) to best prepare students on Module 6 content and answering HSC questions. In this workshop, students will cover the key points of understanding and links in:

    Module 6 - Electromagnetism

    • Charged Particles, Conductors and Electric and Magnetic Fields
    • The Motor Effect
    • Electromagnetic Induction
    • Applications of the Motor Effect

    All students will walk away with a variety of resources including bespoke HSC-style questions and answers.

    Workshop Delivered by Paul Looyen

    Paul LooyenĀ is Physics Expert Facilitator at CrookED Science andĀ has over 28 years Physics teaching experience in both government and independent schools, including three years in the USA. From 2004 to 2022, he was Faculty Head of Science at Macarthur Anglican School.Ā He has extensive marking experience ofĀ HSC PhysicsĀ includingĀ fourĀ years as Senior Marker andĀ threeĀ years as Second in Charge of Marking. Paul hasĀ also been on numerous examination writing committees. As a result, he has presented at Meet the Markers run by the Science Teachers Association NSW for many years, and been invited toĀ conduct numerous HSC review seminars for students through several universities. In 2019,Ā PaulĀ was invited to attend the International Teacher Program run at CERN, Switzerland, and the following year he was invited to attend the International Teacher Program at LIGO, based in the USA. This led to running professional development for teachers, on the physics of CERN, for ANSTO and CONASTA.Ā In 2021,Ā he was awarded Outstanding Professional Service Award by STANSW. In 2022,Ā Paul co-authored 'HSC Physics A+ Practice Exams', aĀ HSC exam book published by Cengage Learning. He also has had articles published in The Conversation and Australian Physics. Paul is perhaps best known for hisĀ popular YouTube channel, Physics High, developing contentĀ toĀ aid aĀ betterĀ understandingĀ ofĀ physics at a high school level.Ā
