Celebrate the 80th RSHYR with friends and family at sailing’s best crew party!

📅 When: Monday 22 December, from 1700hrs
📍 Where: CYCA Clubhouse & Sydney Race Village

🍸 Who: Members, RSHYR competitors, friends & family | OPEN TO EVERYONE

When the crew uniforms are ironed and the race prep is (mostly) done, there’s only one place to be: the CYCA 80th Clubhouse Crew Party.

This is the night the sailing community comes together - crews, mates, and families to toast the year’s biggest race in true Sydney style. Think beers, beats, bites, and bubbles, all set against the sunset backdrop of Rushcutters Bay.

This isn’t your standard BBQ. Three of Dedes’ signature restaurants - Alpha, Sala, and Flying Fish - are setting up food trucks to serve festival-style eats from 1800hrs.

  • Lamb Gyro $18 – slow-roasted lamb, ripe tomato, tzatziki, lemon, pita

  • Chicken Gyro $18 – marinated chicken, paprika, tzatziki, pita

  • Yiayia’s biscuits $5 – homemade perfection

  • Spanner Crab Slab $14 – delicate, fresh, and a must-try

🎶 The Vibe

  • 1700hrs: DJ kicks things off in the Race Village – good tunes, good people, good times.

  • 1800hrs: Food stalls open – grab your favourites and dig in.

  • 2030hrs: DJ wraps up, food stalls close.

  • 2100hrs: The party heads into the CYCA Clubhouse, where the Baker Boys Band lights up the night.

From sun-drenched Aperols to late-night dance floors, the 80th Clubhouse Crew Party is the ultimate start to race week. It’s where skippers, sailors and supporters all come together before the Great Race South.
