Event description

You are warmly invited to Change Makers, a powerful lunchtime gathering spotlighting the intersection of gender justice, policy reform, and community strength.

Join us in welcoming two extraordinary changemakers:

Maria Dimopoulos AM Chair of Safe and Equal – Human rights advocate, policy trailblazer, and voice for migrant and refugee women across the nation.

Tania Farha CEO of Safe and Equal – Fearless leader calling for national investment and coordinated responses to end family violence, grounded in intersectionality and long-term vision.

Both speakers return from the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) in New York, bringing with them global insights that will resonate deeply with our local challenges and possibilities. Together, we’ll reflect on:

  • The evolution of gender equality on the world stage
  • The urgent need for intersectional, survivor-centred approaches in policy and practice
  • How we, as a region, can lead with courage, care, and collaboration

Lunch will be available for purchase from a local multicultural food vendor, celebrating the diversity of our region and the power of shared meals.

This event is an invitation to connect, listen, and imagine a future free of violence—where gender justice is not a vision, but a lived reality.
