Event description

Latiné characters, narratives, and performers have been part of Broadway since Broadway began, yet that history is rarely at the center of the story Broadway tells about itself. Drawing upon the research that went into his book-length study of the topic (Latin Numbers: Playing Latino in US Popular Performance), award-winning performance historian Brian Eugenio Herrera will invite questions from those assembled to guide a lively interactive discussion about the history of Latiné presence (and absence) on and beyond the Broadway stage.
