Dr Visier SanyuI is an elder from Nagaland, NE India - a historian turned gardener. He was the Head of History and Archaeology Department of Nagaland University. The Nagas are tribal people straddling the mountainous Indo/Myanmar border, who fought for their independence for decades. Currently, they have their own state within India. He is a historian, much sought after by the media on Naga issues, lived in Australia for many years, first as an asylum seeker with his family, but has now returned to Nagaland and has established a Healing Garden to help address the deeper needs of his region.
He carries a number of responsibilities: President, of Peace Initiatives, Northeast India (PINE), Adviser of the Global Naga Forum, and President of the Overseas Naga Association.
