In 2023 Singapore courts handed down six death sentences and carried out five executions, including that of the first woman to be hanged in almost 20 years.

Kirsten Han is a member of the Transformative Justice Collective, where she advocates for the abolition of the death penalty. Kirsten won the Portside Review (Perth) 2024 Human Rights Essay Prize for her essay on the city-state’s fight against drugs, titled Singapore Will Always Be At War.

Your ticket includes a drink and finger food.

The conversation will start at 6.15 pm.

This event will raise funds to enable JWMF to support Australian lawyers and law students to volunteer with capital defence lawyers overseas.
