Re-humanising the coffee supply chain - Fairtrade Fortnight Event | Conversation with Wells Trenfield, co-founder of Jasper Coffee
Event description
This Fairtrade Fortnight, join us for a conversation with Wells Trenfield, co-founder of Jasper Coffee.Â
Hear Wells share the story behind how Jasper Coffee became one of the founding members of Fairtrade Australia New Zealand, and the first licensed roaster to sell Fairtrade coffee.Â
We’ll be exploringÂ
- How Fairtrade works
- Why it matters, and
- The difference it makes for growers and their communities.Â
Wells will unpack how Fairtrade cooperatives work in practice, with examples from Ethiopia and East Timor, and challenge some of the misconceptions surrounding Fairtrade too.
This will be a practical look into how Jasper Coffee is working in collaboration with growers and cooperatives to re-humanise the coffee supply chain, and what work still needs to be done.
🌎 Fairtrade FortnightÂ
(6 - 19 August 2021) is an annual celebration of people, including farmers and families, working to make the world a fairer place. It’s a great time to reflect on the power of our choices to create a better future for the planet and its people. We hope this blog has inspired you to read a little further into Fairtrade practises for the benefit of farmers, consumers and businesses everywhere.
