“Learning and teaching should not stand on opposite banks and just watch the river flow by; instead, they should embark together on a journey down the water. Through an active, reciprocal exchange, teaching can strengthen learning how to learn.”

Loris Malaguzzi

This workshop is for educators who are interested in cultivating a deeper understanding of how Contemporary Academics are integrated throughout the Reggio Approach.

Join us as we explore:

  • How do the theoretical and philosophical roots of the Reggio Approach and current educational research support the application of contemporary academics throughout our curriculum?
  • How do you bring academics to life in the school's daily life?
  • How does this approach support the development of threads of inquiry and collaboration among children?
  • What kind of experiences, strategies, and tools can educators introduce to bring contemporary academics to life in the classroom?

  • How does the hundred languages support contemporary Academics?
  • How does contemporary academics support creativity and imagination?
  • How do we fuel wonder and curiosity with inspiration from the outside world?
  • How can contemporary academics support deep and meaningful partnerships with parents and other community members in a Reggio Emilia-inspired school?
