A Discovery of Coastal Birds guided tour at South Maroubra
Event description
A fun exploration of the beautiful coastal birds around the South Maroubra sand dunes and sandy shoreline with BirdLife educator Renée Ferster Levy.
From waterbirds to bush birds and some high in the sky, we hope to see lots of activity - calling, feeding, wading, chasing. You'll learn to identify birds by sight and sound, and find out how we can enhance our local green spaces to help them.
This activity requires some exertion in walking distances on sand, up and down sloped paths and on slippery and uneven surfaces.
Meet at South Maroubra Surf Lifesaving Club. Wear closed-in shoes, sunhat and long sleeve top. Bring raincoat if needed and water bottle. BYO Binoculars.
Conditions of booking
- Suitable for children 8 years and above
- All children under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult guardian
- Parents accompanying children must pay for the activity
- Refunds provided up to 48hrs prior to the event start time.

Photographs, videos and voice recordings
Randwick City Council staff may on occasion take recordings of participants during activities (including photographs, videos and voice recordings) that could be used for the following purposes:
- educational or community information purpose
- Council displays and promotions of community education events
- to complement the promotion of Randwick's Marine and Coastal Program.
If you DO NOT wish for the participant’s recording to be used according to these conditions, please indicate this during the booking process.
Cancellation conditions
Activities may be cancelled due to insufficient bookings or unsuitable weather conditions. Participants will be advised in the event the activity changes or cancellation occurs. All care is made in the preparation of Council's Marine and Coastal Program, but some changes may occur due to circumstances beyond the control of Randwick City Council. Refunds will be provided for paid activities up to 48 hours prior to the activity start and in the event of cancellation by Randwick City Council.
