A FUN FREE FAMILY EVENT IN THE CARLTON GARDENS  

POP-UP CHRISTMAS STORY WALK

Sunday December 8
Any time between 9.30am-3.00pm

Suitable for children ages 2-8 (must be accompanied by an adult)
With map in hand, follow the signs and discover a fun Christmas story in the Carlton Gardens.

Little surprises for little people along the way!

A StoryWalk® is

• a way for people to get together and enjoy stories in the outdoors with family and friends
• a book to read on storyboards placed along a trail
• fun and engaging as you read and walk at the same time.

Gather with friends and family in the park for a picnic, visit the museum, play on the fabulous playground ... and while you are there, pick up a map and clue sheet at our registration desk near the children’s playground (enter via Rathdowne Street, north of the Melbourne Museum)

How long will it take? Approx 45 mins   (It depends how long you want to spend in the playground.)

This event is created by Geography Victoria and supported by the City of Melbourne, with the generous support of Slimline Warehouse and Readings Bookshop.

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont, USA - developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in 2007. Hundreds, if not thousands of StoryWalks® have popped up all around the world since.
