Event description

Join us for an online conversation exploring the environmental impacts of physical music products and the solutions shaping a more sustainable future.

Hosted by Tim Shiel (Green Music Australia) in conversation with Luke Logemann (Sustainable Music & Merch Alliance), this session will unpack the newly released Green Guide to Physical Music. We’ll discuss the challenges of making records and CDs sustainably, highlight inspiring initiatives from around the world, and share practical steps artists, labels, and fans can take.

We will also spotlight local leaders making change – from artists experimenting with greener vinyl releases to manufacturers experimenting with new processes to record labels pressing locally and reducing freight impacts.

This event is open to everyone working with or interested in music products. It’s also the launch point for a bigger conversation through the Sustainable Music & Merch Alliance, which brings together record labels, merch companies, manufacturers, retailers, and distributors across Australia and New Zealand to understand and reduce the environmental impact of music and merchandise.

Register now for free to be part of the conversation!

If you have any dedicated accessibility requirements please let us know in the RSVP checkout or by emailing bridget@greenmusic.org.au

The Sustainable Music & Merch Alliance is supported by the Australian Government through Music Australia, by the City of Sydney through their Innovation and Ideas Grant, and the NSW Government through Sound NSW.
