A Green Iron Plan for Australia: Modelling five Australian regions
Event description
Session 3: Modelling green iron production in five Australian regions
In the final session of the three-part series on A Green Iron Plan for Australia: Securing Prosperity in a Decarbonising World, Bivios Australia Director Max van Someren, and TSI economist Ben Scott, present the results of regional modelling for green iron production across five locations: the Eyre Peninsula, Geraldton, Gladstone, Kwinana, and the Pilbara.
The session will examine how location-specific factors – such as renewable energy availability, grid access, transport logistics and infrastructure – shape the economics of production. It will explore which configurations are lowest cost, where flexibility adds value, and what these findings mean for the development of a green iron industry in Australia.
Hosted by The Superpower Institute, this session is part of a three-part webinar series that takes a closer look at A Green Iron Plan for Australia: Securing Prosperity in a Decarbonising World. Discover the whole series.
