A Jewish Guide To Survivng History
Description
From Torah to TikTok, Amalek to Kanye West, A Jewish Guide to Surviving History races through thousands of years of Jewish history in a one-woman show of storytelling and comedy.
Retelling Torah and recurring Jewish dramas through a contemporary lens, Rayni Bonne moves between satire, cultural observation and reflection, exploring what Jewish survival has looked like across generations, and what it means to keep going now.
Funny, irreverent and deeply Jewish, don’t miss this show or the chance to gather for one of our oldest traditions: laughing and crying at the same time.
In Melbourne for one show only, fresh from its debut at the Jewish Festival of Spoken Word, A Jewish Guide to Surviving History comes to Shelanu on The 8th of November.
Rayni Bonne is a writer, stand-up comedian, storyteller and founder of Tribe of Chutzpah Productions.
She has performed internationally, including at Yohay Sponder’s Funny Mondays, and produced and hosted sold-out showcases at the Sydney Comedy Festival, B’nai B’rith and The Comedy Store.
Rayni is an October 8th Jew. A recovering leftie and arts entrepreneur, she’s still processing the ideological whiplash. Luckily, Judaism and comedy are keeping her afloat.
