A Love Local Sustainability Tour (Lake Macquarie NSW)
Description
Join this Love Local tour on the western side of Lake Macquarie for an on-the-ground look at what's already happening here for a healthier planet. ReNewy Living is connecting you with a network of people, businesses and organisations doing good - starting right where they live.
Guided and facilitated by Mardi Lee from ReNewy Living, this small-group, drive-yourself tour will take you to three spots on the west side of Lake Macquarie:
Visit Lake Macquarie's first, now-established Tiny Forest
A private tour of Lake Macquarie City Council's FOGO facility and Community Recycling Centre at Awaba
Visit 1-2 community gardens, and chat with the people who manage it - a chance to learn from each other
What to Bring / Wear
Closed-in shoes
Sun hat and sunscreen
Wet weather gear such as raincoats and umbrellas
Water bottle
BYO morning tea, lunch and hot drinks. There may be a chance to buy from a local café, but it's more flexible to bring your own
NB: Attendees will drive themselves to each venue. However, car-sharing may be needed for the Awaba Waste Facility visit, as parking there is limited.
The event will still go ahead in wet weather.
