A Menu of Community-based Research Methods
Course Description:
This course offers a comprehensive overview of the various methods available to researchers when implementing a community-based approach. Participants will explore the benefits and limitations of qualitative, quantitative, and arts-based methodologies, gaining insights into sampling and recruitment strategies tailored for diverse communities. The course covers practical tips for collaborative data gathering and analysis, ensuring that researchers are equipped to handle the complexities of community-based research using an equity lens. Whether you're new to the field or looking to deepen your understanding, this course provides foundational knowledge and skills needed to conduct impactful research that truly reflects community voices and mobilizes people towards change.
Course Objectives:
After successful completion of this course, participants should have:
1. A deeper understanding of when and how to practically apply qualitative, quantitative, and arts-based research methods in community settings.
2. Insights into how to design and implement effective sampling and recruitment techniques that are tailored to diverse community contexts and reflect equitable community engagement.
3. The ability to apply course learnings when supporting community-based research projects on topics that are important to them.

Course Costs:
Each course: $695
Cost for Basic Community-based Research Certificate: is $2,780 (4 courses x $695)
Cost for Advanced Community-based Research Certificate: is $5,560 (8 courses x $695)

How to Register:
To begin registration, first enter the buyer's information. Once completed, click "Register", and you'll then be able to add the details for the participant.
Cancellation and Refund Policy:
A full refund (minus a $50 administration fee) will be issued for cancellations made at least two weeks before the first class.
A 70% refund will be provided for cancellations made up to 2 days before the first class.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations or no-shows made on or after the first class.
CCBR reserves the right to refuse registration to any applicant at its sole discretion.
