A Monument to Triggs Two - Port Noarlunga Rivermouth
Event description
A Monument to Triggs Two is a new large-scale contemporary site based participatory art project by SA artist Henry Jock Walker in collaboration with OSCA – Open Space Contemporary Arts. The project encourages creative thinking and environmental action via an ongoing series of public events and workshops with local surfing, artistic and residential communities.Come along and be part of a growing initiative that explores the
interweaving of art, surf culture, grass roots recycling and
environmental practices.
ACTIVITIES
- Exhibition of community made surfboard sculptures
- Workshop focussed on redesigning old surf clothing into new garments
- Talks by local artists and individuals focussed on sustainable practices related to the environment
- Meet the lead artist, Henry Jock Walker, to find out how to get involved into the future
- Info points to meet people from the Nature Festival and other environmental groups
- Draw and brainstorm a social monument to Triggs Two on local cars as the canvas to paint on
