The Old South Arm School was built back in 1880 and is was privately purchased by us in 2020. Since then, we've begun critical maintenance, repairs and restoration of the school building, Principal's cottage and the old outhouses. The Old buildings have suffered from many years of neglect and are in a quite dilapidated state. We plan to continue a sympathetic restoration overall, to protect this piece of local history for future generations to come. Works completed so far include drainage, landscaping, sub floor ventilation, sash window repairs, restoring lighting and electricity to the school building and roof replacement for all six buildings! There's much more to do! Future projects include restoration of 17 sash windows, repairs to lime mortar, repairs to sand stock bricks, timber restoration and removal of modern paints from external brick walls... Your contribution goes toward the purchasing of materials needed to complete these restoration projects. With thanks, Jason and Belle.
