A Night of Legacy
Event description
On Friday, 10 October, Ravella Newcastle will host A Night of Legacy — a formal charity ball in support of Cancer Council NSW. More than just a glamorous evening, this event is a heartfelt celebration of community, resilience, and remembrance.
The ball is part of organiser Mitch Samways’ campaign for Stars of Newcastle, the much-loved charity dancing event now celebrating its 10th anniversary and set to be held at NEX on 1 November 2025.
Guests will arrive in style with a red-carpet entrance, champagne on arrival, and live music, setting the tone for a night to remember. Hosted by NBN’s Jane Goldsmith, the evening will feature inspiring guest speakers including State MP Tim Crakanthorp and Ali Cooke from Cancer Council, who will share moving insights into the impact of cancer and the vital research and services this event supports.
Dinner will be a lavish Italian banquet by Alfie’s Italian, served in Ravella’s stunning main hall. Guests will also enjoy live and silent auctions, a raffle, and exclusive prizes — with all funds raised going directly to the Cancer Council. The night will flow into an afterparty with live entertainment and dancing, ensuring the celebration continues well into the evening.
For Mitch, owner of Lone Clothing Co. and Paperboy Espresso, the cause is deeply personal. After losing his mum to cancer, he is honouring her legacy while raising much-needed funds to support families facing similar battles today.
With just 140 tickets available and the event set to sell out, A Night of Legacy is not only a standout on Newcastle’s social calendar, but also a powerful demonstration of how our community can come together to make a lasting difference.
