Glasgow-born singer Fiona Ross has secured her reputation as a highly gifted interpreter of Scots song.
Fiona was Finalist for Scots Singer of the Year in Scotland's prestigious Trad Music Awards. Her most recent album "Sunwise Turn" (Fiona Ross & Shane O’Mara) won Music Victoria’s Best Folk Album award and was a finalist for Traditional Album of the Year in the Australian Folk Music Awards.
Here in her adopted home of Australia, Fiona continues to fly the flag for the Scots song tradition through her concerts, workshops and presentations. Whether sharing a “muckle ballad”, a heart-rending love song or a rousing Jacobite chorus, Fiona delights audiences with her deep knowledge and understanding of the old Scots songs and the stories behind them.
