A practical guide to taking your website idea to MVP with AI
Description
Workshop Overview
AI makes it faster than ever to turn an idea into a working site. Sounds exciting, right? But where to start? Join DP for a practical session where we walk you through a live web site AI build that you can code along with, complete with tips on how to start, what to watch out for, and when to bring in a technical partner.
Full description:
AI tools have opened up new ways to test and refine ideas quickly. You can now build a first version of your product or new internal process and solve problems inside it in a fraction of the time.
Over the past 10 years, social enterprise Digital Purpose has seen an increase in people building their own apps, which is great! We’re here to help get you started, and to offer a helping hand if and when required.
The speed AI offers is great, but you still need to proceed with caution. You need to know which problem to solve first and who you are solving it for. It’s also important to be able to look after what you have built.
Digital Purpose creates digital products that make a positive impact on people and the planet, including improving health, wellbeing, education, climate, capability uplift and employment creation for vulnerable groups.
We will cover:
Intro to AI coding: what it is, how it works, and the key features of Claude Code, v0, Lovable, Bolt, Base44, Replit and Cursor
Watch (and code) a 20-minute live build with Claude Code (code along with us if you like)
Learn about common gotchas: security, privacy, source control, scalability, performance and running costs
How to recognise when you need guidance from a technical partner
Understand the real cost of AI, financial and environmental
Ask questions in a Q&A
If you want to code along with us, bring your laptop with your favourite AI coding tool installed. We like Claude Code and Cursor, but others are also welcome. WIFI will be available.
Work on your own idea while we demo or book a session with us after the workshop.
You will leave with the confidence to start building your first prototype at your own pace.
Who is this for?
Founders, social enterprise teams and community leaders who want to build their first app or website, as well as those who have started and want to know what comes next. No coding experience is needed.
What next?
Have an idea you are ready to start building or have something part-built you’re not sure about? Book a free 15-minute session with us after the workshop. You’ll find us at our booth.
