Event description

Recently, an Israeli company- Aleph Farms- was the first in the world to get an approval to market cultivated (lab grown) meat.

With the rise of protein alternatives, we will be hosting Prof. Yoav Livney – the head of the Alternative Protein Centre from the Technion- Israel Institute of Technology, to discuss several aspects of this new food technology, including the ways it is (or will be treated) by Jewish halacha.  

Participants:

  1. Prof. Yoav Livney – head of the Alternative Protein Centre at the Technion
  2. Rabbi Alon Meltzer - Director of Programs of Shalom and works at Mizrachi Synagogue. He trained as a chef and is currently studying a PhD in Law.

Monday 5th of February- 7:15 for a 7:30 start. Eastern Suburbs location
