A Shared Flame

Presented by Sounds of Young Hearts in collaboration with Lantern and Lotus, A Shared Flame brings together young musicians in a diverse program spanning centuries of musical expression. From the timeless works of Bach and Beethoven to the rich colours of Ravel, the program also explores traditional folk songs and contemporary works by living composers, offering a journey through contrasting styles, voices, and perspectives.

At the heart of the afternoon is the belief that music can connect us to one another and inspire meaningful change. Through this collaboration, proceeds from the concert will support Lantern and Lotus and its work supporting girls’ education in rural China, helping create greater opportunities for young women through access to education.
