A Taste of Broome Festival 2022

A Taste of Broome will return in 2022 as a three day arts and culture festival, celebrating the unique Indigenous multiculturalism within the community of Broome with local music, art, craft, dance, food, film and culture.

You can purchase single tickets to any of the events over the festival, or receive a 15% percent discount when you purchase over $200 of tickets. Stephen Pigram's Fish Soup and Rice Concert and Off Chops not eligible for discount. 

Schedule of Ticketed Events

Thursday 25th August

• 5:00pm. Music & Picture Show: This award-winning, multi-arts performance is not to be missed if you’re wanting to immerse yourself in the rich history of Broome through song, stories, pictures and people. A smoking ceremony and Welcome to Country will be followed by “Nurlu”, traditional and contemporary Indigenous dance. This will be followed by a true Broome visual feast – the official Music and Picture Show featuring a wealth of musical talent from around the region. A variety of culinary delights and cuisines will be available to purchase from Broome’s multicultural chefs to satisfy your taste buds and fill your bellies.

Friday 26th August

• 10:30am. Broome Film Showcase: Goolarri Media presents a selection of short films made in, for and about the Dampier Peninsula. Be entertained by the spectacular creativity and informed by the unique access of our pool of local film makers.
• 2:30pm. Mabu Buru Tours:  Local Indigenous man and tour guide Johani Mamid will be taking tour groups around the Broome Peninsula visiting historic and cultural locations.
• 5:00pm. Stephen Pigram's Fish Soup and Rice Concert:  Local music legend, singer songwriter, Stephen Pigram presents this one off music and culture experience. Come listen to Stephen Pigram as he shares songs, stories and pictures in this intimate concert. Included in the ticket each guest will be provided with a taste of delicious Fish Soup and Rice.

Saturday 27th August

• 9:45am. Mabu Buru Tours:  Local Indigenous man and tour guide Johani Mamid will be taking tour groups around the Broome Peninsula visiting historic and cultural locations.
• 9:30am & 10:45am. Sandfly Circus: Theatre Kimberley’s Act Belong Commit Sandfly Circus will present two exciting and invigorating 20 minute family shows of hilarity and awe inspiring feats.
• 1:00pm. Music & Picture Show matinee: We are excited to announce a shorter, matinee version of our massively popular Music and Picture show. Come and be entertained and informed by our regions best musicians and story tellers in this special matinee performance.
• 3:15pm. Kimberley Cooking Experience: Come and experience, taste and learn about our rich culinary history in this interactive, multi-sensory feast.
• 5:00pm. A Taste of Broome Soiree: Need a moment to breathe and chill out this Kimberley Festival season? head on down to this soiree for a splendid evening of chilled out music in our beautiful gardens. Featuring some of the region's best musicians. This event is FREE!!! Just rock up and enjoy yourself. The bar will be open the vibes will be vibing.
• 8:30pm.  From the Makers of multi-award winning YUCK Circus comes a party fit for a big night in Broome. Expect a wild time reminiscent of the dance floor cardio you never knew you needed, and the 3am stagger home you couldn’t avoid. Come along for a riot of comedy, high-flying acrobatics, and trashy dancing.
