Dive into the incredible terroir of the Côte des Blancs for the night with this beautiful champagne tasting hosted by Emperor's Head Sommelier, Kyri.
The Côte des Blancs is an iconic area of the region of Champagne located a few kilometers from Epernay. As its name suggests, the Côte des Blancs is an exclusively white appellation translating into ‘The Hill of Whites’. Chardonnay is planted as a stand-alone varietal (85% of the vineyards are planted with Chardonnay).
The chalk-covered ridge of the Côte des Blancs is where the Chardonnay finds its finest expression, source of the famous Blanc de Blancs Champagne style.
Perfect examples of this pure expression of Chardonnay can be found in the wines of: De Sousa, Larmandier-Bernier, La Rogerie and other incredible producers.
