This weekend of professional development offers three focused workshops in clinical hypnosis, each designed to deepen your skills and broaden your application of hypnotic techniques in therapy. You may attend each workshop individually or as a full weekend package.

These workshops are only open to AHPRA registered health care professionals, Social Workers eligible for membership AASW and Counsellors eligible for membership of ACA.

Workshop 1: A Potpourri of Effective Hypnotic Skills and Techniques for Children

Workshop Dates: 13 & 14 September 2025

Led by Linda Thomson, past President of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, this two-part workshop offers a practical exploration of hypnosis in pediatric care. Spanning two mornings, it includes demonstrations and clinical strategies for introducing hypnosis to children, addressing common emotional, physical, and behavioural challenges, and matching techniques to developmental stages. Through discussion, video examples, and practical insights, participants will gain confidence in using hypnosis with children and adolescents in clinical settings.

Workshop 2: Creative Self-Hypnosis for Therapists and Clients/Patients

Presented by psychologist Christiane Steffens-Dhaussy, discover how self-hypnosis can transform both personal wellbeing and professional practice. This practical webinar explores when, where, and how to use self-hypnosis; different types and personal styles, as well as how to develop and apply effective suggestions, metaphors, gestures, and voice. Participants will create a personalised self-hypnosis script and learn methods to teach self-hypnosis to clients. Group work will support you in developing and practising your own tailored approach.

Workshop 3: From Taboo to Acceptance – Hypnotic Tools for Grief

Also presented by psychologist and palliative care specialist Christiane Steffens-Dhaussy, this webinar explores the use of hypnosis in grief therapy. Participants will learn how hypnotic techniques can create safe, supportive frameworks for clients, families, and children navigating loss, and how self-hypnosis can help caregivers maintain emotional balance and protect against secondary trauma. The workshop includes case studies, rituals for healthy grieving, and practical hypnotic tools for use in emotionally intense settings.
