Join us for a special public presentation of the choral work, A Weight to Entice Buoyancy, the latest work-in-progress by artist Amber Cronin, developed in collaboration with Kaurna Cronin, Emma Borgas, and members of the Adelaide Chamber Singers.
Beginning with an artist talk hosted by curator and contributor to the project, Andew Purvis, this event offers an intimate window into the making of this ambitious, multidisciplinary project that weaves together sound, story, and material practice. Join artist Amber Cronin and project collaborators Emma Borgas, Kaurna Cronin + singers from the Adelaide Chamber Singers performing live choral chamber arrangement.
A Weight to Entice Buoyancy is a multidisciplinary project exploring environmental resilience, hope, and interconnectedness through sound, storytelling, and material practice. This event offers a unique insight into the creative process and a chance to witness the work performed live in the space, before the work is presented internationally in Manchester in July.Â
- A live vocal performance of the final sound work sung by eight members of the Adelaide Chamber Singers, lead by Emma Borgas ahead of international presentation at Manchester International Festival.Â
- An artist talk hosted by Andrew Purvis with Amber Cronin and creative team, Kaurna Cronin + Emma Borgas, unpacking the process, ideas, and environmental themes behind the work
This is a unique opportunity to engage directly with the full creative team, hear the work performed in full for the first time, and explore the complex, hopeful narratives underpinning A Weight to Entice Buoyancy.
This performance has been proudly supported by the City of Norwood, Payneham & St Peters.Â
A Weight to Entice Buoyancy has been made possible by a group of dedicated supporters and collaborators and proceeds with immense gratitude towards them.Â
This project has taken its shape on the land of the Kaurna People in deep reverence for the stories, song lines and culture that has taken place here for millennia. Munaintyanangku, tunturri. (Always was, always will be)
