Join Touch Compass for the first webinar in our fabulous series #a11yArts: International Creative Leadership Series with Lynn Fu, a Shanghai-based independent curator and consultant who has years of experience working in disability arts and touring international artists through China.
Lynn will give an overview of the general history of disability and disability recognition in China, and the changing perception of disabled people over the past 40 years. She'll then discuss the current landscape of disability arts in China and the scope and scale in which Chinese disabled artists are performing, as well as the ways in which her organisation and her leadership are challenging the status quo.
Finally, Lynn will paint a picture of what the Chinese markets look like and how to tour China as a disabled artist.
There will be plenty of time at the end of the kōrero for Q&A to ask your burning questions!

About Lynn Fu -
With over 15 years of experience working in arts and culture, Lynn Fu is an independent curator and consultant currently based in Shanghai, having worked at the British Council in Shanghai and New York for many years. Her career focuses on international programming and collaboration for various theatres, festivals and organizations in China. She was part of the curation panel for APAM and Made in Scotland showcase of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Lynn is an ISPA global fellow and Edinburgh Fringe associate. She represents the Auckland based Modern Maori Quartet and toured the company across 30 cities in China from 2017 to 2019. She recently produced the digital residency in Shanghai for the award-winning Berlin based artist collective Gob Squad. She co-founded Arts Access, a platform to increase access to Shanghai’s cultural institutions for the disability community, and is currently working with the Goethe Institute Shanghai on disability and inclusion in East Asia. She also serves as the China Market Advisor for the Australia Council for the Arts.
Lynn is a Shanghai native. She holds an M.A. in Arts Administration from Columbia University. She also studied and lived in France, Japan and Korea. Passionate about cultural diversity, she speaks four languages and has traveled to 40 countries around the world.
