A2EP site tour: commercial and industrial renewable heating installations - Sydney
Event description
More and more organisations are looking to heat pumps to efficiently supply heating and cooling services for a range of applications, including commercial applications. Join the A2EP team for a tour of several operational heat pumps to see this technology in action. Hear first-hand from end-users and technology providers about what is involved with transitioning to heat pump technologies.
During this one-day bus tour we will visit a heated outoor pool, a commercial office building, and a brewery to see the different commercial and industrial renewable heating installations.
The tour will be hosted by A2EP CEO, Jarrod Leak. Lunch and other refreshments will be provided and covered by the tour cost. The tour will also be a great networking opportunity with end-users, suppliers, government, and consultants in attendance.

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE TOUR SITES
52 World Square is an existing commercial office building, extensively refurbished for a higher NABERS rating. It has been recently updated to include an end-of-trip facility consisting of 28 EOT showers and 11 basins with a peak load of 2,866 litres of hot water. The building’s new hot water plant consists of: 2 x Rheem Commercial A2W 35Kw heat pump - model 953035H0 Horizontal Discharge; 2 x Grundfos CM3-2 Single Phase primary circulators - 366084; 3 x Rheem RT1000N9ALU Stainless Steel Storage Tanks
Located in Concord, New South Wales, Cabarita Swimming Centre is a beautiful flagship facility overlooking the Parramatta River. The contemporary facilities include three outdoor saltwater pools, with a newly installed Rheem RTHP540 commercial pool heat pump, as well as an 42kW Inspire Energy solar system. The Cabarita Swimming Centre's Electrification Project was commissioned in March 2023, with the stunning outdoor pool reopened for the new swimming season on 1 September. The brand new heat pump is keeping the water at a lovely swimming temperature.
Tooheys Brewery, Lidcombe
Tooheys, a household name from the Lion brewing group, is brewed at a vast facility in Lidcombe. Tooheys is a large energy user currently using some renewables for brewing, packaging and utilities. They are on a pathway to electrification and this tour is a great opportunity to see a large scale business in the process of transition. The tour will visit the Tooheys tap room, for lunch and a briefing of the site, and we will view the site’s large hot liqour tank and its CIP heat recovery as well as packaging and other utilities on large screens.
