    Event description

    Please join us for the 2024 Annual General Meeting of the Australian Association for Environmental Education (AAEE). We will be receiving the Annual Report on national activities and finances, electing/confirming the National Executive 2024/25, and discussing proposed amendments to the Constitution. 

    You must be a member of AAEE in order to vote at the AGM - although all are welcome to attend. Become an AAEE member HERE.

    From the AAEE Constitution:

    26.   ANNUAL GENERAL MEETINGS – CALLING OF AND BUSINESS

      1. 26.1 The Association shall, at least once in each calendar year and within the period of 5 months after the expiration of each financial year of the Association, convene an Annual General Meeting of its members. The Annual General Meeting shall be conducted in accordance with the Act.
      1. 26.2 These rules have effect subject to the powers of the Registrar of Incorporated Associations under section 120 of the Act in relation to extensions of time.
      1. 26.3 The Annual General Meeting of the Association shall subject to the Act, be convened on such a date and at such place and time as the Executive Committee thinks fit.
      1. 26.4 In addition to any other business which may be transacted at an Annual General Meeting, the business of any Annual General Meeting shall be:
      • to confirm the minutes of the last preceding Annual General Meeting and of any General Meeting held since that meeting;
      • to receive from Executive Committee any reports on the activities of the Association during the last preceding financial year – including the Annual Report;
      • to elect a new Executive Committee;
      • to receive and consider the statement of accounts and the reports that are required to be submitted to members pursuant to subsection 73 (1) of the Act;
      • to confirm Chapter Liaison Officers and other officers as required [see rules 24.5 and 25.5]
      • to discuss and if necessary vote on motions submitted to the Annual General Meeting; and
      • to discuss and if necessary vote on any matter which the majority of those members present at the Annual General Meeting resolve to discuss.
