Intersections of theory and practice: Navigating post-structuralist and post-humanist approaches in diverse contexts
Event description
The Poststructural Theory SIG and Global Contexts in Education SIG warmly invite you to attend our free hybrid workshop, Intersections of theory and practice: Navigating post-structuralist and post-humanist approaches in diverse contexts!
- This workshop is for HDR students, and early and mid-career researchers who are curious about post-structuralism, post-humanism, and other related post-foundational spaces.
- No prior knowledge is required — we want to cultivate a space where people can explore their curiosities.
- But if you do have experience thinking with these theories, then please join us to build connections and share your valuable insights!
The workshop will consist of a panel discussion, small group hands-on activities, and a social component where participants will get a chance to debrief and connect with one another. We are very fortunate to have three panelists who will share their experiences thinking with theories:
- Dr Eve Mayes, Deakin University
- Leanne Higham, La Trobe University
- Maarten Klene, Deakin University
Participant bios will be shared soon.
Date: Thursday 17th October 2024
Time: 4-6pm AEDT for the workshop, followed by a social component from 6-7pm AEDT
Where:
- Australian Catholic University, Melbourne campus (in-person); room to be confirmed
- Zoom (online); link will be provided after registration
The social component is for in-person participants only and will include light snacks and
refreshments.
Hope to see you at the workshop!
Kind wishes,
Ben Zonca, Rebecca Spratt, Rhonda Di Biase, Pashew Nuri, and Tanjin Ashraf
