Attmi Yata: Ravi Singh, Jeff Usher and friends Indo-Jazz connection
Description
Attmi Yata, meaning affinity, is a coming together of musicians, cultures and musical traditions, united by a shared love for music.
Bringing together six accomplished musicians with diverse cultural and artistic backgrounds, Attmi Yata is a celebration of musical expression, collaboration and connection. Having performed nationally and internationally in their individual musical careers, each artist brings a wealth of experience, a distinct musical identity and a deep appreciation for their craft. Together, they create a rich tapestry of sound, where the intricacies of Hindustani classical music meet the spontaneity of jazz, and traditional melodies find new expression.
Their repertoire journeys through the poetry of ghazals, the depth of classical compositions and the timeless charm of old melodies, brought to life through fresh arrangements, improvisation and musical dialogue. With musical expressions spanning Hindi, Bangla and Nepali, Attmi Yata celebrates not only the diversity of musical traditions but also the stories, emotions and shared human experiences that connect them.
At its heart, Attmi Yata is not about blending traditions until their identities disappear. It is about celebrating what makes each one unique, while discovering the beauty of what happens when they come together. Beyond languages, cultures and musical styles, there is something that connects us all: the ability of music to move, to communicate and to bring people together.
