ABC Friends Central Coast are pleased to announce that we will be hosting Jonathan Holmes on Thursday 10th April at the Elanora Hotel in 41 Victoria Street, East Gosford.
The function will commence at 10.30 am with Jonathan scheduled to speak at around 11.00 am. We invite all our guests to stay on for lunch at the conclusion of this event at around 12.00 pm. Please note that lunch and drinks will be at your own expense.
Jonathan Holmes is a journalist and currently chair of the ABC Alumni. Born and educated in Britain, he joined BBC TV’s current affairs group in 1971. After 12 years working behind the camera on programs like 24 Hours, Nationwide and Panorama, he came to Australia in 1983 to become executive producer of the ABC’s Four Corners, where he stayed until 1985.
Jonathan has served as head of ABC documentaries, executive producer of the ABC programs Foreign Correspondent and the 7.30 Report, and of Channel Ten’s short-lived current affairs program Public Eye. He has worked as a reporter for the ABC's Foreign Correspondent and Four Corners. Jonathan was a nominee for a Walkley Award four times and with Jill Jolliffe, won the 1998 Logie Award for Best Documentary.
