Takeover Burnie is an exciting storytelling and leadership program from the ABC.

We’ve worked with local schools to uncover incredible stories from young people from all over Northwest Tasmania and supported them to speak up about what’s important to them.

Red Carpet Cinema Screening
We are rolling out the red carpet for the world premiere of the ABC Takeover Burnie winners' stories – on the big screen! 

Date: Tuesday 23rd September 2025

Time: Arrive from 5:30pm for a 6:15pm start (approximate end time 8:00pm)

Youth Ideas Launch

ABC Takeover winners present their big ideas to improve life for young people in Burnie.
Date: Thursday 25th September 2025

Time: Arrive from 3:30pm. Community organisation market stalls and until 4:00pm. Youth Ideas Presentations from 4:00pm to 5:30pm. Feedback and community organisation market stalls from 5:30 to 6:00pm.
