Auspire presents a highly engaging FREE Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Workshop, to provide members of the community with the opportunity to gain an awareness of Aboriginal culture, history and experiences of Australia's First Peoples.
Facilitated by a knowledgeable and respected First Nations' Noongar leader, this workshop will explore the values, traditions and perspectives of Aboriginal people, the impacts of colonisation and how these still play out today.
Presented within a culturally safe and inclusive workshop framework, this introductory session is ideal for individuals who want to learn and gain knowledge in order to improve relationships and facilitate real and lasting change in their community.
Thanks to support from the City of Bayswater, this workshop is free to attend - registration is essential.
Topics Include
Understanding Aboriginal history
Key cultural protocols, values and belief systems
The impact of colonisation and dispossession
Challenges and obstacles faced today
Working together for a better future
Light refreshments will be served. All workshop participants receive a free workshop booklet, a certificate of participation and a resources list to support the continuation of their learning journey.
