Abortion Stigma Webinar - March 2027

In recognition of the Global Day of Action to Destigmatise Abortions, Children by Choice is hosting a professional development webinar exploring abortion stigma within the Australian context on Monday 22 March at 12pm - 1pm.

This session will unpack

• what abortion stigma is

• how it manifests across health systems and communities

• what current research reveals about its prevalence among abortion seekers.

The discussion will highlight the experiences of people impacted by abortion stigma and offer practical strategies for health and community professionals to embed compassionate, stigma-free reproductive care into their practice.

The webinar aims to strengthen the capacity of professionals working directly or indirectly in health, domestic and family violence, and community services to identify and address abortion stigma within their spheres of influence.

Time

This webinar runs for approximately one hour.
Participants may request a certificate of completion via email after attending.

Target audience

This webinar is designed for professionals with an understanding of reproductive and sexual health, particularly those engaged in pregnancy options and abortion care, or working within health, community, or human services sectors.
